Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ICU position requiring Neuro experience, a CA RN license, and ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications.
Details
- Work in the ICU of a 392-bed acute care hospital
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Required to work every other weekend (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
- Floating required between like units as needed to meet facility needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Meditech charting system
- Any scrub color accepted
Requirements
- Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at submission)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
- Neuro ICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required, though candidates with strong experience will be considered
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, arterial line management, and blood product administration
- Respiratory skills including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and suctioning
- Neurological skills including CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery care
- Cardiovascular drip titration and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management experience
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, including neuro and surgical ICU populations
- May float between sister facilities within the region as needed
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of application; post-submission requests may not be accommodated
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius or accept a lower bill rate
- Free parking available on-site
