Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg unit requiring at least 1 year of hospital med/surg experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

Work in a 36-bed Acute Care Med/Surg unit
Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, ESRD, pneumonia, renal failure, sickle cell crisis, orthopedic surgery, bariatric surgery, AMS, and sepsis
Patient ratios of RN/LPN 6:1 and CNA 12:1
Telemetry monitoring used, though nurses are not required to read strips
Hospitalist in house 24/7 and RT available 24/7
PICC team available for consult as needed; no dedicated IV team
Charge nurse and nurse aides present on the unit
12-hour day shifts from 7a-7p
Every other weekend required
Occasional floating required
Uses MEDITECH EMR

Requirements

Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certification required
ACLS preferred
Minimum 1 year of hospital Med/Surg experience required
Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

Provide direct patient care within a busy Med/Surg unit with a diverse patient population
Floor-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts
Scrub requirement: white tops with hunter green pants
Holiday coverage required
Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement
Not eligible if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months
