Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Peds/Neo RT position requiring 2+ years PICU or Level IV NICU experience.
Details
- Acute care setting within a Pediatric/Neonatal Respiratory Therapy department
- Covers NICU and PICU patient populations
- Handles 20-25 treatments per day
- Performs airway management, intrahospital transport, and assists with intubation
- Uses aerogen, Volara, cough assist, IPV, NAVA, Hamilton and Servo ventilators
- Equipment includes Hamilton and Servo vents, Respironics and Hamilton BiPAP, and Fisher Paykel HFNC
- Epic EMR used
- Day shift schedule with 3x 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekend requirement of 6 shifts per 4-week schedule (Fri, Sat, Sun)
- Possible holiday coverage required
- No call or standby call requirement
- No floating required
- Hospitalist/Intensivist available in house
- Staffed with multiple RTs per shift, not a solo coverage role
Requirements
- RRT preferred
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years experience in PICU and/or Level IV or greater NICU
- License required if applicable
- Peds and Neonatal patient care experience required
Additional Information
- Responsible for all aspects of respiratory care for pediatric and neonatal patients
- Department-specific orientation provided, with timeframe based on prior experience
- Scrub color/dress code is stone/light gray
- Assist-only role for intubation, not required to intubate independently
- Radius rule of 50 miles applies; local candidates not accepted
- Returning travelers must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying to any WVU Medicine location
- Travelers may not work within WVU Medicine facilities for longer than one year cumulatively without a 2-year break
