Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week assignment at a Level 1 Trauma and Burn center.
Details
- Respiratory Care unit within a 500+ bed hospital
- Level 1 Pediatric and Adult Trauma and Burn center
- Covers adult medical, trauma/neuro, burn, cardiovascular critical care units, and Emergency Department
- Day shift hours from 07:00-19:30
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- High school diploma with 2 years of cumulative experience, Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable job-specific experience
- BLS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC required
- Respiratory Care Practitioner license required from the Indiana Respiratory Care Committee, if applicable
- ACLS preferred (AHA or American Red Cross)
- NRP certification preferred from the AAP
- PALS certification preferred (AHA or American Red Cross)
Additional Information
- Evaluate and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies
- Assess patients to determine appropriate treatment type and frequency and develop care plans based on diagnosis
- Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment, including advanced respiratory care modalities
- Evaluate respiratory practice, medication administration, and treatment outcomes
- Educate patients and families on health conditions and available support resources
- Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes
- Work independently using critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment
- Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required
- Accepts local candidates at a reduced rate due to facility radius rule
- Candidates must have a US Social Security Number and US home address
