Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Renal unit, requiring a SD or compact RN license and at least 1 year of surgical patient experience.
Details
- 19-bed surgical renal telemetry unit in an acute care, Level 1 trauma hospital
- Cares for complex medical patients including acute and chronic renal failure, hypertension, diabetes, head and neck cancer, thyroid cancer, heart failure, chronic wounds, and paraplegia/quadriplegia
- Includes care for kidney transplant recipients and living donors, with an outpatient infusion room for post-discharge transplant patients
- Uses Epic (One Chart) for documentation, along with PCA and epidural pumps and telemetry monitoring
- Rotating day/night 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday required
- 36 hours per week guaranteed
Requirements
- Active SD or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with surgical patients
- BSN not required for this position
Additional Information
- Plans and coordinates patient care including assessment, education, triage, and other nursing interventions
- Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Provides empathetic care across all stages of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
- Small, family-oriented unit offering strong opportunities to build nursing skills
- Navy blue scrubs required
- All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
- Local candidates accepted within an 80-mile radius at an adjusted rate
- Clinicians with prior Sanford Health employment must have an end date at least 6 months before submission
