Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring SD or compact RN license and at least 2 years of cath lab experience.
Details
- Acute care Level 1 trauma hospital setting in the Cardiac Cath Lab department
- Unit includes 8 fluoroscopy rooms and 2 procedural rooms, averaging 30 patients per day
- 1:1 nurse to patient ratio
- Day shift with varying 10-hour schedules (0530-1600, 0630-1700, or 0730-1800)
- On call responsibilities include 1-2 calls per week and 1 call weekend every 3-4 weeks with a 30-minute response time
- Must be available to fill mandated call if not picked up by others
- Uses Epic EMR along with Pyxis, Philips XIM monitoring system, Xcelera, ultrasounds, Angiojets, EKOS machines, and Acist contrast injection system
Requirements
- Active RN license (SD or Compact)
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required
- Graduation from an NLN or AACN accredited nursing program strongly preferred
- BSN preferred but not required
- Experience administering and monitoring conscious sedation and circulating in sterile environments
Additional Information
- Perform cardiac catheterization lab duties including left and right heart catheterizations, PCIs, temporary and permanent pacemaker placements, ICDs, EP procedures, TEEs, cardioversions, venous ablations, and peripheral vascular angiograms
- Unit-specific orientation lasts 4-6 shifts depending on experience, focusing on charting systems and physician equipment preferences
- Ceil blue scrubs provided
- All staff must badge in and out at the facility
- Candidates must disclose any previous employment with Sanford Health; those with prior employment must have an end date at least 6 months before submission
- Accepts local candidates within an 80-mile radius
- First-time travelers may be considered
