Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a critical access hospital requiring MN RN license, TNCC, and rotating day/night shifts.
Details
- 25-bed critical access hospital providing general medical, skilled nursing, emergency, swing bed, and outpatient care
- Patient population ranges from infant to geriatric across all skill mixes
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 with average census of 6 patients
- Uses Epic/One Chart EMR, Pyxis medication administration, Alaris IV pumps, and Phillips telemetry/cardiac monitoring
- Rotating day/night 12-hour shifts
- Required to work at least every 3rd weekend and some holidays
- No on-call requirements and never scheduled to work alone
- Floats between hospital, ED, outpatient nursing, and PACU as needed within the same unit
- Minimum staffing of 2 RNs at night and 3-4 RNs during day/evening, with nursing assistant support from 0500-2130
Requirements
- Active MN RN license required
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
- 3 years of RN experience preferred
- BSN not required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care across all ED patient types, excluding scheduled OB/deliveries
- New RNs are paired with another RN on the unit for orientation
- On-site Epic/EMR training available through a local trainer
- Navy blue scrubs required
- All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
- Candidates must reside within an 80-mile radius for local placement consideration
- Facility may cancel up to 12 hours every 13 weeks
