Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist for a Level 2 trauma acute care setting, requiring 2+ years of cath lab experience and RCIS certification.

Details

  • Acute care Cardiac Cath Lab in a Level 2 trauma facility
  • 7 procedure suites total: 4 Cath Lab/EP rooms and 3 IR/Vascular rooms
  • Average of 20+ cases daily across all rooms
  • Patient cases include LHC, RHC, PCI, structural heart, Watchman, Impella, IABP, IFR, FFR, IVUS, STEMI, Roto, and Laser procedures
  • Uses Cerner and Merge EMR/equipment systems
  • 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with a rotating day off, also open to 4x9 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Weeknight call rotation approximately once every 3 weekdays
  • Weekend call rotation approximately once every 3 weekends, Friday through Monday
  • Call response time of 30 minutes
  • May be required to take holiday call
  • Hybrid floating required for vascular cases
  • Daily staffing includes 1 RN and 3 Techs in Cath Lab, a 3-4 person EP team, and 1 RN/2 Techs in IR
  • STEMI call team consists of 1 RN and 3 Techs

Requirements

  • Active ACLS, BLS, and RCIS certification required (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
  • Acute care, Level 2 trauma hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with device exchange, guidewire manipulation, catheter placement, balloon and stent deployment, and sheath removal
  • Ability to manage radiation dose and imaging angles
  • Experience with Cerner EMR

Additional Information

  • Prepare procedure suites and ensure radiation safety setup prior to cases
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot fluoro and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
  • Pull supplies, set up sterile table, and scrub in to assist physicians during procedures
  • Perform room turnover including cleaning and restocking after cases
  • 2 team leads manage scheduling and staffing and may assist with staffing when needed
  • Unit-specific orientation typically includes 2-3 full days of training and shadowing
  • No call required during the first week, followed by a buddy call during the second week before working independently
  • Scrubs are provided, though candidates may wear their own scrub caps
  • All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
  • Department will not consider candidates who have previously worked for this facility within the last 6 months
  • Local candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility will be considered at a reduced rate
