Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring an AR or compact RN license and 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg unit in a 170-bed acute care facility
• Adult and geriatric patient population with general medical surgical diagnoses and treatments
• Patient ratios of 6-7:1
• Uses Meditech EHR
• Night shift schedule from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend required at minimum
• Floating required to all med/surg floors
• Occasional low census call requirements, no more than once per month, though this typically affects regular staff rather than travelers

Requirements

• Active RN license (AR state license or compact) required
• CPR certification required
• AHA certifications required
• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience required
• Current state licensure required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Assess, plan, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for assigned patients throughout each shift
• Supervise and assign duties to LPNs, Nursing Assistants, and Unit Clerks based on patient acuity and staff proficiency
• Administer medications and treatments including IV meds, blood products, and patient-controlled analgesia
• Document patient assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes per policy
• Respond appropriately to emergency and life-threatening situations
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel position
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment
