Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist II with 3+ years experience, EPIC, GE E-10, and vascular ultrasound experience for a 4x10 night shift contract

Details

• Hospital-based Ultrasound department
• 4x10 night shift schedule, Tuesday-Friday 9:00 PM-7:00 AM
• Friday night is the only weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• On-call not required
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Uses GE E-10 ultrasound equipment

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist required
• Previous EPIC experience required
• Previous GE E-10 equipment experience required
• Previous vascular ultrasound experience required
• Completion of a 12-month Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent certificate program required
• RDMS certification through ARDMS with specialization in at least one modality relevant to department (e.g., Abdomen, OB/GYN, RVT)
• BLS certification required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Assists radiologists with invasive diagnostic procedures such as needle biopsies, aspirations, and guided needle-wire placements for surgery
• Provides training and standardization guidance to residents on these procedures
• Evaluates patients for contraindications including medications, preparation, and tolerance of procedures
• Performs ultrasound procedures under general or direct physician supervision
• Recognizes sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissues, structures, and blood flow
• Analyzes findings throughout exams to ensure comprehensive data collection for physician interpretation
• Images structures while capturing Doppler signal and recordings for radiologist review
• Communicates preliminary diagnostic findings to radiologists and referring physicians
• Must complete all departmental Sonographer competencies within 12 months of hire and maintain annual modality competencies
