Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg unit requiring a GA or compact license, NIHSS certification, and at least 1 year of experience.
Details
- Work in the Acute Care 2 (Med/Surg) unit of an acute care hospital
- 44-bed unit with 40 staffed beds
- Patient ratios of 1:5, possibly 1:6, for both day and night shifts
- CNAs support the unit at ratios of 1:8 to 1:10, sometimes used as sitters
- Telemetry patients are monitored on a different unit
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 7p-7a
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to all acute care units and cardiology, as well as EC for acute care patient holds
- Uses MEDITECH EMR
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- BLS (AHA) and NIHSS (AHA) certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- At least 1 travel assignment required
- MEDITECH experience preferred but not required
Additional Information
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility based on driver's license address to be eligible
- Not eligible for placement if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months
- General orientation is 1 week and includes EMR training
- Unit-specific orientation is 2 days
- Caribbean Blue scrub color required
- Holiday coverage required as needed
