Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 12-hour day shift position requiring BLS and NIHSS certifications and compliance with a strict 75-mile residency radius.
Details
- Acute Care Med/Surg unit with 44 beds and 40 staff members
- Patient ratios of 1:5, possibly 1:6, for both day and night shifts
- CNAs available at 1:8, generally 1:10, and can be utilized as sitters
- 12-hour day shifts scheduled 7a-7p
- Every other weekend required
- As-needed holiday coverage
- Uses MEDITECH EMR, prior experience preferred but not required
- Telemetry patients monitored on a different unit
- Floating required to all acute care units and cardio for medical patients, or to EC for acute care patient holds
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS (both must be AHA)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- At least 1 travel assignment required
Additional Information
- General orientation is 1 week, including EMR training
- Floor-specific orientation is 2 days
- Scrub color required: Caribbean Blue
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility, based on the address listed on the candidate's driver's license, to be eligible
- Not eligible for placement if employed by the facility within the last 12 months
