Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2+ years of general OR experience and a Level 1 trauma acute care setting.
Details
- Acute care setting in a Level 1 trauma hospital operating room
- Circulating nurse role supporting multiple campuses with 33 operating rooms
- Handles General surgical, GYN, Urology, and laparoscopic cases
- Uses EPIC charting system, Omnicell, cautery, lasers, and laparoscopic equipment
- 8 or 10 hour shifts Monday-Friday
- Call requirement of one weekend every 6 weeks plus one day per week
- Stay-late shifts occur 1-2 times per week as an extension of the core shift, not considered call back
- May float to nearby campuses within 20 minutes of the main facility, though this is rare
Requirements
- Active ND or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Large hospital experience at a Level 2 or higher trauma facility required
- Experience with General surgical, GYN, Urology, and laparoscopic procedures required
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced OR environment
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, patient positioning, documentation, and OR equipment setup
- Ceil Blue scrubs provided
- Must badge in and out at the facility
- Candidates must not reside within 60 miles of the facility
- Candidates residing 60 to 80 miles from the facility are eligible at a reduced local travel rate
- Clinicians with prior employment at Sanford Health must disclose this and have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
