Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatrics RN for a night shift contract requiring Pediatric Hematology/Oncology experience and an active IA or compact RN license.
Details
- Pediatrics unit (B4-Meth) caring for Peds Hem/Onc, Med Surg, and all pediatric specialties
- 14-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:2-4
- May float to NICU, B3 general floor, PICU, or the pediatric ED to care for general pediatric patients boarding there
- Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 36 hrs/week
- Weekend commitment every 3rd weekend
- Possible on-call during low census periods, 2300-0700
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active IA or compact/multistate RN license required
- BLS certification (AHA)
- PALS certification (AHA)
- APHON certification (Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses) required
- Pediatric experience within the previous 18 months required
- Hematology/Oncology experience required
- Minimum 24 months of Pediatric and/or Oncology work experience
- Epic EMR experience within the previous 12 months required
- Must be willing to float to the ED to care for inpatient holds
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within 24 months preferred
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to pediatric patients across hematology/oncology, med-surg, and other pediatric specialties
- Must have completed at least one prior travel contract within the past 18 months; first-time travelers not considered
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
- Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from working travel assignments in another market within 12 months of separation
- Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
