Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring recent pediatric hematology/oncology experience and compact or IA RN licensure.
Details
- Pediatrics unit (Peds B4-Meth) within a children's hospital setting
- Patient population includes Pediatric Hem/Onc, Med Surg, and all pediatric specialties
- May float to NICU, general pediatric floor, PICU, and the pediatric emergency department to care for inpatient holds
- Patient ratios of 1:2-4 with a 14-bed unit
- Day shift schedule, 7p-7a, 36 hours per week
- Weekend requirement of every 3rd weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active IA RN license or Compact/Multistate license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Current PALS certification (AHA)
- APHON (Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses) certification required
- Pediatric experience within the previous 18 months required
- Hematology/Oncology experience required
- Minimum 24 months of combined pediatric and/or oncology experience required
- Epic EMR experience within the previous 12 months required
- Must be willing to float to the ED to care for inpatient holds
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
Additional Information
- Care for pediatric patients across hematology/oncology, medical-surgical, and general pediatric specialties
- Must have completed at least one prior travel contract within the past 18 months; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Holiday coverage required for 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Past employees of the health system (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from working travel assignments at other facilities within the system
