Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry Float RN for a night shift position requiring Level 1 Trauma hospital experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Float Pool position covering Medical, Surgical, and Cardiology units within the facility
• Patient ratios typically 1:4 on days (up to 1:5 when stretched) and 1:5 on nights (up to 1:6 when stretched)
• Units range from 15 to 40+ beds depending on where staff is floated
• Uses Abbott Plum infusion pumps and EPIC EMR
• Night shift from 19:00 to 07:30
• Weekend hours vary based on unit need
• No call requirements
• Floating required every shift, including a 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (State of Maine or compact) required
• BLS required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years inpatient acute care hospital experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required, ideally at a 500+ bed facility
• Minimum 1 year of travel assignment experience required
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across multiple Medical, Surgical, and Cardiology units as part of a float pool team
• Flexibility and adaptability are essential given the variable float assignments
• Scrubs may be any clean, professional color; jeans, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, and shoes with holes are not permitted
• Education modules will be assigned by the facility's Education Department for Day 1 onboarding
• Candidates located within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility will be considered local, which may affect pay rate but not eligibility
• Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
• RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration
