Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Rehab Unit position requiring a CO or compact RN license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg or rehabilitation nursing experience.

Details

• Acute rehabilitation unit located on the 4th floor of a Level 1 trauma center hospital
• 27-bed unit staffed with RNs, PCTs, nurse externs, social workers, and patient coordinators
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment
• Uses iMobile on iPhones, gait belts, bed alarms, IV pumps, wound vacs, and occasional Hoyer lifts
• Welch-Allyn vitals machines and telemetry monitoring available at two nurses' stations
• Documents in Meditech EMR
• Performs med pass (mostly PO, some IV), safe ambulation and toileting, central line dressing changes, catheter and peri-care, wound care and wet-to-dry dressing changes, wound vac management, blood administration, neuro checks, and stroke-rehabilitation care

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of current Med/Surg or Rehabilitation RN experience required
• Experience in rehab or orthopedic nursing preferred
• Experience in neuro or trauma nursing preferred
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
