Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a busy telemetry floor specializing in surgical flap and spinal cord injury wound care, requiring at least 1 year of recent hospital Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Med/Surg/Tele unit with 33 rooms and up to 49 beds, including some semi-private rooms used during high census
• Unit staffed with 62 total employees across day and night shifts
• Patient ratios of 4:1 on day shift and 5:1 on night shift
• Utilizes telemetry monitoring equipment
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Scheduled shift is 7A-7P
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of current hospital Med/Surg experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with spinal cord injury (SCI) patients preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for FL and MO candidates)
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Care for surgical flap patients, including spinal cord injury patients with stage 4 wounds requiring surgical intervention
• Perform wound care and occasional bowel program management
• Partner with the burn unit to care for low acuity burn patients
• Best suited for RNs who enjoy a fast-paced, patient care-focused floor environment
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• No local candidates will be considered
