Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift position requiring recent Med/Surg or Oncology experience and a Colorado or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 13-bed Med/Surg Oncology unit on the 4th floor of the main hospital building
• Unit staffed with 1 charge nurse and 3 RNs per shift on both day and night shifts
• Patient ratios typically 5:1, sometimes 4:1 (estimated, not guaranteed)
• Uses Meditech/CPN EMR system
• Chemotherapy administration performed on the unit
• Night shift schedule, 7P-7A
• Self-scheduling available with commitment to work every other weekend

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Oncology hospital RN experience required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Chemotherapy certification (ONC) preferred, and required for all RNs working in Oncology
• Prior Meditech experience preferred
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Oncology patients including chemotherapy administration
• Unit is 3 years old with modern equipment including updated computers and vital sign machines in every room
• Unit has maintained over 3 years without a CAUTI, over 4 months without a CLABSI, and over 1 year without a unit-acquired C.diff infection
• Unit staff bring a combined 160+ years of nursing experience, with a Director in her role for over 5 years
• A staff member received a Daisy Award recipient recognition last year
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
