Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a 26-bed surgical telemetry unit, requiring an active KY or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• 26-bed surgical telemetry unit caring for patients needing surgery or recovering from surgery
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4
• 3x12 schedule, day shift 7a-7p
• Weekend and holiday rotation required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior experience required though previous nursing experience preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with care team members

Additional Information

• Provide holistic, patient and family-centered nursing care across all phases of the nursing process
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and implement treatments within RN scope of practice
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge processes including discharge teaching and coordination with case management
• Delegate and oversee care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
