Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/CVU position requiring cardiac proficiency and EKG comfort on the night shift.
Details
- 28-bed Medical Surgical Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (CVU)
- Diverse patient population including general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patients
- CVU cares for over 4000 cardiology patients annually, including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemaker procedures
- Unit also cares for post-op open heart surgery patients (18-24 hours post-op) and patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology needs
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Possible on-call responsibilities
- Floating to similar units required
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required (compact license not accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of Stepdown experience required
- Proficiency in cardiac care required
- Comfortability with EKG monitoring required
- Skills checklist completed within one year of application required for consideration
- Michigan license verification (LARA and Nursys) required
Additional Information
- Utilize clinical judgment to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions
- Work alongside an Interdisciplinary Care Team using clinical pathways and patient education to guide care
- Unit has an active Unit Based Council promoting a collaborative, team-oriented work environment
- New team members receive structured orientation and ongoing support
- Facility has received a Beacon Award and recognition as a Top 50 Heart Hospital in the U.S.
- Local candidates within a 35-mile radius are considered local travelers with adjusted pay terms
- No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested
- Former full-time employees of the health system are not eligible for contract hire within six months of their employment end date
