Description

American Traveler is seeking an Emergency Department RN with 2+ years of experience and ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications for a day shift position requiring a SC or compact RN license.

Details

• General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• Patient ratios of 1:4, which may flex to 1:5 depending on acuity
• Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Float within scope to meet facility needs or to sister facilities as needed
• EPIC charting system used
• Short term acute care hospital with 97 staffed beds

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license must be in hand prior to start
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Triage skills required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must complete all assigned training modules prior to start date, with access typically provided the Wednesday before start
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Previous MUSC perm staff (including PRN) must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates residing within 60 miles are considered local and may be accepted at a reduced rate on a case-by-case basis
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2-week period
