Description
American Traveler is hiring a Rehab RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring BSN, a MO or compact RN license, and at least 2 years of nursing experience.
Details
- Inpatient Acute Rehab Unit (ARU) caring for patients discharged from acute care requiring 1+ weeks of PT/OT/speech therapy
- Patient population includes post-surgical, post-stroke, CHF, total joints, hip/femur fractures, and general med-surg patients
- Non-telemetry unit; patients occasionally have IVs and require lab draws
- Patient ratio of 1:5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
- Every third weekend required with holiday block coverage
- Floating to similar units within the hospital may be required
- EPIC charting system used
Requirements
- Active RN license in Missouri or Compact state required, must be in hand prior to start
- BSN required
- BLS and NIHSS required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Must pass a telemetry/basic EKG exam with 80% or higher (2 attempts allowed)
- Responsible for own IV insertions and lab draws
- Experience with IV therapy, orthopedic care, neurological assessments, and cardiac monitoring preferred
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- EPIC charting experience preferred
Additional Information
- Work collaboratively with physical therapy and care management teams to plan patient discharge from time of admission
- Must complete all organizational mandatory education and modules during orientation
- Weekend and holiday time-off requests must be pre-approved before joining the team
- Self-scheduling is used, though schedules are created 6 weeks in advance, which may limit flexibility for incoming travelers
- No smoking or leaving hospital premises during shift
- First-time travelers with 2+ years of experience are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at a reduced pay rate
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Facility is a Level II Trauma and Level II Stroke Center currently expanding with 18 additional beds
