Description
American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with 2+ years of experience, proficient in both mammography and DEXA imaging.
Details
- Radiology department performing mammography and bone densitometry services
- Uses Hologic Selenia Dimensions 3D Mammography System and Hologic Horizon DXA System
- Performs routine breast imaging scheduled every 30 minutes
- Performs diagnostic breast imaging scheduled every 40 minutes
- Performs DEXA scans scheduled every 20 minutes
- Works alongside 1 scheduler and 1 other technologist
- Day shift schedule from 08:00 to 16:30
- 26-week assignment length
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience required
- Current BLS certification through AHA
- Proficient in both Mammography and DEXA imaging
- Experienced in diagnostic and routine breast imaging
- License required if applicable
- Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start of assignment
Additional Information
- Greets patients, explains procedures, and confirms imaging requests prior to exams
- Positions patients and adjusts equipment to perform mammographic imaging studies
- Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff
- Maintains production and quality standards, retaking images as needed for optimal results
- Forwards completed studies to radiologist for interpretation
- Performs preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on mammography equipment
- Maintains inventory of supplies and patient drapes
- Documents patient services through accurate chart completion
- Accepts local candidates at a reduced rate due to facility radius rule
