Description
American Traveler is seeking an Emergency Department RN for a Level IV trauma facility requiring TX or compact RN license and 2 years of ED experience.
Details
- 13-week assignment in a 5-bed Emergency Department within a Level IV Trauma Facility
- Facility also includes a 16-bed Med/Surg Unit and 2-bed IMC
- Night shift schedule from 18:45-07:15
- Every other weekend required
- On-call required for 3 shifts per 6 weeks
- Treats adult and pediatric patients with acute injuries and life-threatening conditions including stroke, STEMI, fractures, concussions, and minor illnesses
- Typical staffing includes 2 RNs with a mid-shift LVN or RN on most days
- Uses Compass/Cerner EHR
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- TNCC preferred but not required
- Current license and primary source verification (Nursys) required within 30 days prior to start
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
- Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment skills required
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
- Implement and monitor patient care plans while coordinating care across disciplines
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate
- Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
- Patients requiring higher levels of care are stabilized and transferred to network hospitals for specialty services
- Navy blue scrubs or scrub jacket required
- Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
