Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with general OR and trauma experience for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring a Missouri or compact RN license.
Details
- Operating Room unit in a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday (5x8.5 hours, 6:45-15:15)
- Rotating weekend shifts required as determined by department
- On-call requirement of 1-2 weekdays per week and 2 weekends per 13-week assignment
- Regular floating required between departments, units and facilities as needed
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active RN license (Missouri or compact) required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent in-specialty experience required, with no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year
- General OR and trauma experience required
- Both Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact license must be in hand at time of consideration due to floating requirements
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Two professional references required, one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year
Additional Information
- Perform surgical procedures across specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, trauma, and robotics
- Experience with equipment such as cell saver, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light sources is utilized
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- Maximum RTO of 7 days, which must be finalized at time of consideration
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Employees with 18 months of tenure require a 3-month break in service before returning as a traveler
- Former permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Travel partners are not accepted for this position
