Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring a CA RN license, Trauma Level I experience, and 2+ years of ICU specialty experience.
Details
- Work in the ICU of a Trauma Level I hospital, including Medical, Neuro, Surgical, and Trauma ICUs
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Uses Epic EMR
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
- Required to work 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week cycle
- Required to work at least one holiday, including the holiday weekend
- May float to like units or lower acuity units (excluding ED) within the 5-hospital organization at or below skillset
Requirements
- Active CA RN license in hand at time of consideration (Temp or Perm, no EMSA)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (TNCC preferred), all must be AHA certified
- 2+ years of concurrent ICU specialty experience, having worked within the past year in an ICU setting
- Travel experience required, including 1 year total travel experience and 6+ months of continuous travel experience leading up to consideration
- Epic or combined Epic/Cerner experience required within the last 6 months
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, ventilator management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, CRRT/CVVHD, EVD and ICP monitoring, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
- 1 supervisory level reference required
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing services to ICU patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and renal conditions
- Must reside outside a 100-mile radius of the facility to be eligible, excluding LVNs/MAs
- Candidates who have been on assignment in San Diego for 9+ months are considered local and not eligible
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Returning staff and travelers may reapply after a 1-year waiting period
- Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed, with no additional requests after consideration
- No gaps in travel experience within the last 6 months, except for minimal pre-approved vacations or onboarding/relocation periods
