Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 16-week night shift assignment at a rehabilitation teaching hospital, requiring a WA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

Medical Surgical unit within a rehabilitation teaching hospital
91 staffed beds
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
Patient ratios of 1:6-8
Floating between units required
Weekends required, minimum every other weekend
No on-call requirements
48-hour work weeks approved
Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response
Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management
Experience with non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required
Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

Provide Med/Surg nursing care including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and respiratory support
May be required to float between sister facilities within the state
Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
Scrubs of any color accepted for all units
No parking fees
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live more than 50 miles from the facility
Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including dates and locations
