Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN with Pre-Op, PACU, and Phase II care experience for a block schedule assignment at a Level II Trauma Center.
Details
- Work in the PACU unit of a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Day shift (4x10 hours, 7:00-17:00) or Night shift (4x10 hours, 21:00-7:00) available
- Block schedule required
- Floating required between units and sister facilities within the state
- No weekend requirement
- No on-call requirement
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
- Required experience in Pre-Op, PACU, and Phase II care with IV skills
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition/management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and blood product administration
- Experience with central line care, IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, and reversal agents
- Experience caring for patients receiving various types of anesthesia including conscious sedation, general, local, MAC, nerve blocks, and spinal
- Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain assessment/management, PCA pump management, and RASS
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Provide perianesthesia nursing care across Phase I and Phase II PACU settings
- Care for surgical patients across specialties including bariatrics, ENT, general, GYN, neuro, ophthalmology, ortho, and vascular
- Teaching hospital environment
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Must submit all RTO and scheduling requests upfront during the application process
- Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius of the facility, though local candidates are accepted at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside the 50-mile radius
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this position
- Scrub color for RNs can be any color
