Description

American Traveler is hiring a Charge RN for an Operating Room position requiring prior charge nurse experience and robotics competency.

Details

  • Work in the Operating Room at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital with Level 4 trauma designation
  • 1:1 patient ratios
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 0600-1630
  • Possible weekends and holidays required
  • On-call required
  • Floating required between Main OR, Outpatient Surgery Center (OSC), and the Hernia Center
  • EPIC charting system used
  • Scrubs provided in any color for OR personnel

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required, including prior charge nurse experience
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required, with at least 2 completed travel assignments highly preferred
  • Competency in robotics required, including experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
  • Experience across multiple surgical specialties preferred, including vascular, plastics, neurology, podiatry, general surgery, orthopedic, ophthalmology, urology, ENT, and thoracic procedures
  • Scrub role required

Additional Information

  • Serve as Charge RN3 in the Operating Room, overseeing daily operations and supporting staff
  • Must be willing to train newly hired RNs
  • Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
  • RTO limited to 1 week maximum, with no time off accommodated during the first 2 weeks of assignment
  • Prior UW staff must have at least 18 months of separation from the facility before returning as a traveler
  • First-time travelers may be considered, though candidates with at least 2 completed travel assignments are highly preferred
  • COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
