Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a full-time night shift assignment requiring an active WI or compact RN license and NRP/BLS certifications.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit providing care for maternal and newborn patients
• Cross-trains to care for Med Surg/EICU patients when needed
• Full-time schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week (1900-0730)
• Weekend rotation required
• Performs fetal heart monitoring, labor induction management, and cervical ripening
• Manages high-acuity obstetric emergencies including prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, and placenta previa
• Assesses and manages newborn conditions including neonatal sepsis and resuscitation

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required within 1 month of hire
• NRP certification required within 6 months of hire
• ALSO certification required within 1 year of hire
• STABLE certification required within 1 year of hire
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required within 1 year of hire
• Two-year nursing degree required, four-year degree preferred
• No minimum years of experience required
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required

Additional Information

• Completes nursing histories, assessments, and individualized care plans for patients
• Triages patients based on presenting symptoms
• Administers medications accurately
• Monitors newborns for adverse events such as hypoglycemia, hypothermia, and jaundice
• Promotes patient education and involvement in newborn care
• Communicates patient status changes promptly to care team
• First-time travelers may be considered
