Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN with ortho experience for a day-shift role requiring a compact or MD license and prior travel assignment history.
Details
- Medical Surgical unit with a focus on orthopedic patient care
- Patient population includes joint replacements, spinal surgery, orthopedic trauma, hand trauma, and fractures
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 0700-1930
- Weekend coverage required every 3rd weekend
- Floating required between Ortho and Med/Surg units
Requirements
- Active compact RN license or MD state license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience within the last 7 years required
- Ortho experience required, including peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacement, and surgical drains
- Must have completed at least 1 previous travel assignment
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
- Flu vaccine required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for orthopedic and general med/surg patients including joint replacement and trauma cases
- Must reside within 60 miles to be considered a local candidate for local rate purposes
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract
- Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
