Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift hospital assignment requiring 2 years of experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• General Medical Surgical unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Patient diagnoses include respiratory disease, infections, dementia, and neurological conditions
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 1900-0730
• Every other weekend coverage required, subject to facility need
• Floating required to other MS/Tele units or facilities based on census
• Uses Omnicell medication system and Epic for documentation
• Charge RN present every shift to support unit flow and operations

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• At least 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
• Must have MS/Tele competencies and pass an EKG exam
• Skills required include IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, wound care, and respiratory and renal patient care

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for a general medical-surgical population with diverse and complex diagnoses
• Participate in a collaborative unit with a strong teamwork culture and shift-based charge RN support
• Complete mandatory orientation held every Monday along with annual compliance training
• Complete pre-assignment testing and required modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Floating to other qualified units or campuses is expected based on organizational need
• First-time travelers may be considered based on relevant experience
• Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible for full travel rate, with reduced rates for 90-99.9 miles
• Night shift travelers in this specialty must live at least 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible
