Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring SC or compact RN license and EPIC EMR experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Patient population includes orthopedic and bariatric diagnoses on a telemetry unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Pyxis medication system used
• Floating required to similar units or nearby hospitals as needed

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• 2 years of experience in specialty required (3 years required for first-time travelers)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience within the unit
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Experience with oxygen administration via nasal cannula and EKG testing

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for orthopedic, bariatric, and telemetry patients
• Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to emergent dysrhythmias
• Administer medications via Pyxis system and manage IV/central lines
• Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• First-time travelers considered with 3 years of specialty experience
• Floating to other qualified units or campuses may be required based on census needs
