Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift hospital position requiring EPIC EMR experience and an SC or compact RN license.

Details

• MS/Tele unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes orthopedic and bariatric diagnoses with telemetry monitoring
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Uses Pyxis medication system
• Floating required to similar units or nearby hospitals as needed

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the field required
• 3 years of specialty experience required for first-time travel nurses
• Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Experience with oxygen administration via nasal cannula
• EKG testing skills

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for orthopedic and bariatric patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to emergencies including dysrhythmia management
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and manage central and peripheral lines
• Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and compliance modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• First-time travelers considered with 3+ years of specialty experience
• Travelers must be more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, with reduced eligibility exceptions for night shift specialties at 50+ miles from the contracted campus
