Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit, requiring at least 1 year of recent unit experience and EPIC EMR proficiency.
Details
- Work on a 26-bed Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit providing telemetry-capable care for patients 65 and older
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to other qualified units or campuses required based on census needs
- EPIC EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active SC or multistate RN license required (pending license not accepted)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
- Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
- Skilled in IV starts, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line management
- Experienced in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, remote telemetry monitoring, and heparin protocols
- Proficient in geriatric-focused patient care
- Charge experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry-capable care to geriatric patients as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on preserving cognitive and physical function
- Support patients in returning to their pre-admission baseline through mobility and recovery-focused care
- Orientation held weekly on Mondays with annual compliance training required
- Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
- First-time travelers welcome to apply with 2+ years of specialty experience
- Local candidates accepted under facility radius rules
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
