Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring NC or compact RN license, ACLS, PALS, and 2+ years of ER experience.

Details

• Work in a 16-bed Emergency Department within an 86-bed acute care hospital
• Acute Stroke Ready Hospital with Chest Pain Center Accreditation
• Patient population spans all ages from neonates through older adults
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac, neurological, sepsis, respiratory, DVT/PE, diabetic/endocrine, GI, obstetric, renal, mental health, substance abuse, and multi-system wounds/fractures
• Uses Code Cart (Adult & Pediatric), Defibrillator, GE Cardiac Monitors (B450), ECG, and Rapid Transfuser
• Utilizes Paragon ED EHR system
• Night shift schedule from 7PM to 7AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating not typical but may occur

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience required
• Associate Degree in Nursing required
• Skilled in triage, ESI level prioritization, rapid assessment, critical thinking, resuscitation, fast track care, and splinting/immobilization
• Experience with moderate sedation (adult/peds), cardioversion, and transcutaneous pacing preferred
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• AHA certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of acute and chronic conditions for all age groups
• Deliver trauma stabilization, rapid assessment, and critical interventions in a fast-paced ER setting
• Scrub color requirement is any solid color
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered
