Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN - Operating Room with strong orthopedic experience and prior travel assignment history for a day shift position at a California teaching hospital.
Details
- Operating Room unit in a general OR work setting
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, variable Monday through Friday (6:45 AM - 3:15 PM)
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Circulating and scrubbing responsibilities required
- Strong orthopedic background required, including ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, closed/open reduction of fractures, laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusion, and total joint replacement
- General surgery experience including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and laparoscopic-assisted procedures preferred
- Endoscopic procedure experience including bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, and EGD preferred
- Uses Hana Table equipment
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Required to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius based on job qualifications
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
- BSN required
- AHA BLS certification required
- CNOR certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient OR experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
- Prior travel assignment experience within the last 12 months required
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
- Proof of COVID vaccination and booster required, or proof of scheduled booster appointment prior to start date
Additional Information
- Provide circulating and scrubbing support for orthopedic and general surgery procedures
- Complete non-billable training modules during pre-start and annually, with transcripts recorded via the UC Learning website
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
- All RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract
- RTO cannot be scheduled within the first two weeks of the assignment
