Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications along with a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 19-bed Medical/Surgical unit within a 95-bed acute care hospital
• Patient population includes geriatric and adult patients, with occasional pediatric cases (3-4 per year)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses Welch Allyn vital machines, Masimo bedside monitors, CareView, telemetry, Sara Stedy, and ARJO lift equipment
• Charts using Medhost EHR
• 12-hour day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend, with potential for more frequent scheduling based on need
• Floating required to medical detox, ICU, OB, or ER units, including task assignments for OB and ER
• May take low-level Med/Surg overflow patients in ICU with a 1:3 ratio
• On-call requirements apply depending on census, which may result in being placed on call or floated
• Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech stationed at the Med/Surg nurses station

Requirements

• Active RN or LPN license valid in TN (Standard or Compact)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• 2+ years of nursing experience required
• Med/Surg clinical experience required
• Must pass Tennessee Abuse Registry check prior to assignment start

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Joint Commission-accredited acute care facility
• Supervised by MS/ICU Director and Clinical Nurse Coordinator
• Scrub color is flexible, though printed scrubs are not permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
