Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a day shift hospital assignment.
Details
- Respiratory Care department setting
- Adult patient population (approximately 95%) with a small percentage of pediatric patients presenting through the ED
- Not a NICU RT position
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours
- On-call required for some areas such as OT, IR, and Cath Lab, requiring availability within 30 miles/30 minutes of campus
- Floating may be required in rotation with client staff per hospital policy
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Graduate of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Care program or active AARC member
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience
- VA Respiratory Therapy license required if applicable
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- RRT certification required
- CRT certification required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
Additional Information
- Responsible for direct and indirect respiratory care of assigned patients, including supervision of assigned personnel
- Requires strong interpretive, communication, and supervisory skills
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31) unless exempted per CMS guidelines
- Smoke/nicotine-free facility
- Previous VHC staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- RTO requests should be minimal and submitted prior to assignment start, with approval at manager discretion
- Some holiday coverage expected
- Up to 7 hours of non-billable training modules completed during orientation
