Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring CRRT training and TX or compact RN licensure.
Details
- CTICU unit in an acute care hospital setting within a busy Level 1 Trauma facility
- 8-12 beds in 8A and 13 beds in 8B, both high acuity units
- Patient ratios of 1:2, occasionally 1:1
- Patient population includes heart and lung transplant, LVAD, ACB, and valve surgery patients
- Devices encountered include LVAD, CRRT/SLED, Impella, and IABP
- RNs are required to titrate all vasoactive drips for cardiac patients
- Hardwire monitoring used, with RNs reading strips
- Intensivist model with RT assigned to the unit 24/7 for ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP management
- Charge RN carries patients most of the time, with 1 PCA on the floor
- Epic EMR required
- 12-hour night shifts scheduled based on unit needs
- Weekend requirement of 6 shifts within a 6-week schedule
- No call or standby requirement
- Floating required, with first-to-float determined by competency
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, 3+ years preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- Experience in a high-acuity, busy hospital setting required
- CRRT training required
- Experienced ICU background required
- Driver's license copy required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for complex cardiovascular and transplant ICU patients, including drip titration and hemodynamic monitoring
- 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided with preceptors
- Teal scrubs required per dress code
- Willing to work any holidays as needed
- First-time travelers may be considered if they meet experience requirements
- Local candidates accepted
