Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting on the MS/Tele unit
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7p-7a)
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Required to work every other weekend
- Rare on-call requirement, limited to the first 4 hours if needed
- May be required to float within scope to like units or sister facilities as needed
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code teams preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management preferred
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula preferred
- Pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery experience preferred
- Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
- Social Security Number required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to med/surg telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius; local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration, with approval based on facility needs
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval depending on unit needs
