Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift acute care position requiring adult, newborn, and ventilator experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within a 122-bed facility
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 6:30pm to 7:00am
• Provides respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients
• Requires experience with newborns and will attend deliveries
• No NICU on site
• Experience required with ventilator management and arterial blood gas (ABG) draws

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program
• NBRC-RRT or NBRC-CRT credential required
• RCP license required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required at time of hire or within 90 days
• ACLS certification required at time of hire or within 90 days
• PALS certification required at time of hire or within 90 days
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required, with recent experience within the last 3 months
• Cerner and EPIC experience must be noted in employment history if applicable

Additional Information

• Assesses and documents appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy for patients
• Administers aerosol and oxygen therapy while maintaining charts
• Draws arterial blood gases per policy and physician order
• Provides care to ventilator patients
• Assists in training and supervision of new employees as delegated
• Documents care given and maintains treatment records for charges and record keeping
• Instructs nursing personnel in patient and equipment surveillance after initial installation
• Performs drainage procedures and provides additional cardiorespiratory patient care
• Offers suggestions regarding patient treatment and pulmonary progress
• Position represented by SEIU
• Accepts local candidates with no radius rule; local rates match travel rates
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will not be considered
