Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 4+ years of experience and C-section circulating/recovery skills at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
Details
- Acute care Labor and Delivery unit with 18 LDRP beds, 14-bed OB triage, and 8-bed Antepartum unit
- Unit averages 8-10 deliveries per day and 322-344 per month
- Two fully equipped OR suites on the unit for C-sections
- Nurse to patient ratios are mostly 2:1 depending on acuity, Antepartum can be 4:1, and C-sections are 1:1
- Uses Cerner EMR and Fetal Link EFM system
- Night shift schedule from 1900-0700
- 4 weekend shifts required per schedule
- First to float, including to Mother Baby/Postpartum units when needed
- Holiday coverage requested if required by contract
- Call or standby is voluntary, not required
- Required to titrate Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate per protocol
- 1 week of floor-specific orientation provided
Requirements
- Active AZ RN license (State or Compact/NLC) currently in hand
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP
- Minimum 4 years of RN experience required
- Experience with C-sections required, including ability to confidently circulate and recover
- Computer charting experience required, Cerner preferred
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher prior to accepting an offer (maximum 2 attempts)
- Must pass a Pass/Fail Sim lab on day 1 of orientation
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to laboring and preterm pregnant patients, including gestations of 28 weeks and greater (Level II EQ designation)
- Level 1 Trauma Center
- OB Hospitalist in house, with IV Team, RT, Anesthesia, and Pharmacy available 24/7
- 13 charge nurses support the unit
- No nurse aides on the unit
- Scrub color is blue; scrubs not necessary for OR circulating
- Patients are transferred to Postpartum after delivery
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
