Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN with CA licensure and ICU background for a day-shift peri-anesthesia position caring for geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients.
Details
- Work in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) providing peri-anesthesia nursing care
- Care for geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients from admission through discharge
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, with start times between 10:00-11:00 AM, no weekends required
- Floating to other campus locations required based on census needs
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS (PALS preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience required, preferably in a high acute care hospital
- ICU experience required
- Cath Lab experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Travel nursing experience required
- Knowledge of airway management, peri-anesthesia standards of care, and pharmacology required
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
Additional Information
- Provide individualized nursing care applying peri-anesthesia standards and pharmacology knowledge
- Perform nursing assessments and manage patient recovery from a variety of surgical specialties including cardiovascular, neurological, orthopedic, and general surgery cases
- Monitor and manage various types of anesthesia recovery including general, MAC, spinal, and nerve blocks
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local candidate consideration
- Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- First-time travelers considered given required experience is met
