Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring 2 years of experience and an active MA RN license.
Details
- Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital environment
- Supports surge/overflow patients, with some floating to the ED to care for boarder patients
- Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Shift start time offers flexibility of up to four hours earlier or later based on department need
- EOW/EOH (every other weekend/every other holiday) requirement
- 48 hours per week for a 13-week assignment
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), spinal precautions, PCA pumps, and epidurals preferred
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Must pass a pass/fail medication exam and EKG/telemetry test during in-person orientation, with only one attempt allowed
- Study materials are provided in advance to support exam preparation
- Must be able to work all 7 days of the week due to union facility scheduling requirements
- Up to 14 days of RTO can be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
- Holiday coverage allows 1 of the 3 major upcoming holidays as RTO
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius
- Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
