Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry/PCU RN for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring compact RN licensure and prior telemetry/stepdown experience.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) of a Level II Trauma Center
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Floating between units required
• Weekend commitment of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule period
• No on-call responsibilities
• Performs cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team activation
• Manages central and peripheral lines, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Manages cardiac and vasoactive drips, including Heparin protocols and insulin drip titration
• Administers respiratory support including nasal cannula and oxygen therapy

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Telemetry/PCU/stepdown experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Dress code requires solid navy blue scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not be within 50 miles of the facility
• Candidates residing within 50 miles may be accepted at a lower bill rate
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; limited flexibility for post-offer schedule changes
