Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
- ICU setting within a short-term acute care hospital with 379 staffed beds
- Level II Trauma Center
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
- Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
- Floating required between units and sister facilities
- Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at submission
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (OCN preferred)
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC line management, blood product administration, and arterial line management required
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care required
- Experience with dysrhythmia management and multisystem organ dysfunction preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct ICU nursing care including hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and critical medication titration
- Dress code requires solid navy blue scrub attire for licensed nursing staff
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer schedule changes may not be accommodated
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate, though local candidates are accepted at a lower rate
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius
- Only one submission to a Providence facility allowed at a time
- First-time travelers are not being considered for this role given the travel experience requirement
