Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring active MD or Compact RN license and pediatric/adult emergency care skills.
Details
- Combined adult/pediatric general Emergency Department setting
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within skillset, with travelers prioritized for floating
- Epic charting system preferred
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS (TNCC preferred)
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in pediatric and adult emergency care including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric presentations
- Experience with procedures such as intubation, chest tube management, central line care, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and procedural sedation monitoring
- Able to manage multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and interpret/manage dysrhythmias
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and psychiatric crises
- Work within a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility environment
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility are not accepted unless otherwise specified
- Returning staff must be separated from the health system for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- Returning travelers typically must wait at least 6 months after completing an assignment before returning to the same facility or unit
