Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring strong scrubbing ability and RCIS, ARRT, or RTR certification.
Details
- Works in a diagnostic and interventional Cardiac Cath Lab setting
- Position fills the role of a cath lab scrub tech, not monitoring or circulating duties
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Required to work scheduled holidays as they fall
- On-call required 1 day per week and 1 weekend per month
- Floating required within scope with no restrictions
Requirements
- Active RN license, MD or Compact required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only)
- RCIS, ARRT, or RTR certification required
- CPI certification required (Calm Every Storm online version only accepted online vendor)
- NRP or AAP certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required with RCIS credential, or 3 years required with RTR credential only
- Must be able to scrub independently and maintain sterile field
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted with at least 3 years of strong Cath Lab experience
- Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including PCI, PTCA, TAVR, pacemaker insertion, and hemodynamic monitoring
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include EKG lead placement, arrhythmia recognition, hemodynamic monitoring, and maintaining a sterile field during procedures
- Supports a range of cardiac catheterization procedures including diagnostic and interventional cases, ASD closures, stent placements, and valve replacements
- Required to complete onboarding labs within 72 hours of signing contract
- Compliance documents due 5 days prior to start date
- Local candidates accepted at a reduced local traveler rate
- Candidates residing under 50 miles from the facility are generally not accepted unless locals are specifically approved
- Former staff must be separated from the health system for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- Returning travelers must have at least a 6-month break from the system before returning
- Maximum 7 days RTO can be requested, with additional week required on back end if more than 4 consecutive days are taken
- One major holiday off during winter season may be permitted depending on location and unit
- Extensions typically limited to one contract and one extension before a 6-month break is required before returning to the same facility or unit
